We ordered 3 pizzas last night. One plain cheese one margarita and blanco. First of all the pizzas were by far the worst pizzas we've ever had. What an insult to New York style pizza. All three pizzas were so salty that the were in eatable and they got the order wrong and gave us two cheese pizzas, instead of one margarita and one plain cheese. Unfortunately we got everything to go, so we had no chance of getting our money refunded as the close at 8 PM. Do NOT waste your money here.

My dad & I found this place on a bike ride and we went back for dinner. My dad said the family is entertaining in a good way! They recommend calling in ahead of time which we did both night we got take out. The cannolie's are AMAZING also a must have are the mussels. The bread is also amazing. There was not much we didn't like about this place. People from all over the world came to eat here so they are doing something right, keep it up! Thanks!!

We are spoiled by excellent North End Italian food from Boston. We have been here for a few days. This is the best restaurant so far. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan and my daughter the tortellini Alfredo. The portions were very generous. I'm looking forward to lunch tomorrow.

I live 2 blocks from this place, first time I tried it I showed up when they said my pizza would be ready but ended up waiting around an hour.. Pizza was OK. Second time I tried it the same thing happened, only I was waiting around for more like 90 minutes. Tons of others waiting and frustrated as well. They need to figure out a system to accurately inform people of when to come pick up their food .. Maybe call them or something because this was ridiculous. Pizza not very good in my opinion.

This is strictly a takeout place and we didn't actually get to sample any of the food. It was Friday night and as expected, they were packed. We tried calling at 6:15 and they did not answer. We drove there and arrived about 6:30. There were 3 others waiting on their orders. The smells and sights were awesome. I was instantly starving and obviously in the right place. We waited 15 minutes to find out they were not taking any more orders. That is inexcusable customer service. They were not even apologetic about letting us leave without anything . I guess they are wealthy and only operate a tiny strip mall takeout place to reconnect with their Italian heritage. It smelled and looked great so my suggestion is to order by 4 to get something by 8.

How can I rate negative -5 stars? After eating, drinking, and attending various establishments all over the world, I've never been so let down. Not only did I cancel my order 2 hrs after ordering, rendering a house full cranky of kids hungry for the last night of Christmas vacation (considering I waited so long and lost any opportunity to order somewhere else), I was treated with compete disrespect throughout the experience as I watched countless families cancel their orders and storm out and/or see walk up patrons turned away after lingering for over ten minutes (sometimes after already giving their order). I do give credit to the female owner attempting to smooth things over with free cookies, but the cue-ball FOH a-hole berating frustrated patrons with condescending sarcasm and the BOH staff clearly overwhelmed while the male owner sat motionless in front of the counter led me to believe that the 1-yr Anniversary sign will not see 2-yrs. the fact that they espoused a 99% satisfaction rating and claimed to cook for the sopranos just bc they were from jersey clearly showed these amateurs have no business in the restaurant business. Should have trusted my instincts with the lack of positive reviews but I guess this just gets chalked up to a bad mistake, one I hope nobody in AMI ever makes again. If you can't execute the menu, don't publish it.

After hearing good things about Vinny & Cheryl's, we had to try it out. The concept is good with takeout Italian meals ranging from sandwiches and made to order pasta dishes plus bread and desserts. Prices are reasonable for the island at 10-18 for pasta, similar to a sit down restaurant but made for eating at home. Our order of Fettucini Carbonara and Linguine with clams was a bit disappointing. The pasta was cooked well but each dish missed something. The clams were plentiful but the sauce was over seasoned and could have been lighter / less soupy as a simple broth. The basil and bay leaf provided flavor but was missing something to lift the flavors. The Carbonara was my girl's favorite but she found it oily, clumpy or "sticky" as she says and prefers bacon to the smoked ham or pancetta. The serving sizes were large enough for 1.5 or perhaps even two with salad and bread. We ordered a rustic loaf that we enjoyed with olive oil. It may have been more homestyle but we just did not connect with it. We may need to try it again. Since dishes are prepared on the spot, the wait can be long. Ours took 1 hour allowing for a nice walk to the beach but folks ordering later had nearly a 90 min wait.

Just went to this gem hidden in a small shopping center. It is wonderful homemade Italian food. Call ahead at least 40 mind because they make every order from scratch! Worth the wait!!!

I was initially thinking based on the fact the owners are from up north that they would know how to make a good pizza. We'll I couldn't have been more wrong and disappointed. I should have known when I asked about their brick oven and they told me they don't run it regularly. Then asked if they had fresh mozzarella and they didn't have any??? We ordered a house pizza - waited about 20 minutes and owner came out and said his oven was running at 300 and he needed to get the temp up before he could make our pizza so he could "do it right". That should have been another clue they probably don't sell much pizza. The pizza came out 15 minutes later and it was like a glob of sauce and cheese on top of a sheet of paper thin under cooked crust. You could not even pick the slice up....personally I would have never let a pizza like that out of my kitchen. Worst pizza experience ever!!!! They may have other products that are good...but I would steer clear of pizza for sure. Never visiting this place again

Bottom line is the food . I grew up in Bklyn in a connected neighborhood where they really cared about the food. The food was on par and worth waiting for. The owner is really a sweetheart even if a little overwhelmed by her success .

Food is delicious but have to watch what they charge. It is basically take out and you need to know the total before hand as they charge what they please when you show up. Very disappointing

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
